5 Facts of Aisha The Prophet’s Wife

Ummul Mu’minin Aisyah RA is one of the best women who has great merit in the history of Islam. She died during the reign of Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan after bequeathing his knowledge to Muslims.

In the book al-Bidayah wa An-Nihayah by Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir it is mentioned that Aisha is the most beloved wife of the Prophet from the descendants of the most beloved friend, Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq. Her mother was um Ruman bint Amir bin Awaimir Al Kinaniah.

In Shahih Al Bukhari, from the hadith of Abu Usman Al Nahdi on the narration of Amr ibn Al Aas says, “I ask, O Messenger of Allah, who is the person you love the most?

He replied, “Aisha.” I said, Which of the men? He replied, “His father.”

In Shahih Al Bukhari also from Abu Musa, he said, “The Prophet said, “Many men are perfect, and no woman is perfect except Maryam bint Imran, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, Asiyah, the wife of the pharaoh, and the primacy of Aisha over other women is like the primacy of porridge over other foods.”

• The nickname um Abdullah

The Prophet nicknamed him um Abdullah who was taken from the son of her sister, Abdullah bin Al-Zubair. The Prophet also did not marry a virgin other than her.

• Aisha RA in the Qur’an

There is also a verse that goes down to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and explains the slanderous events to Aisha. In surah An Nuur verse 11, Allah (SWT) reveals the truth regarding the heinous slander addressed to Ummul Mu’minin.

• Heaven’s expert

Aisha is also one of the promised paradise of Allah SWT. This is explained in the Prophet’s hadith from Imam Ahmad saying, “Waki’ told us, on the narration of Ishmael, of the narration of Musab bin Ishaq bin Talha, of the narration of Aisha, that the Prophet said, “It is easy. For me to see the white palm of Aisha’s palm in heaven.”

• Knowledgeable

Another specialty of Aisha is that she is the prophet’s most knowledgeable wife and even the most knowledgeable of all women.

Al Zuhri said, “If Aisha’s knowledge is combined with the knowledge of all his wives and the knowledge of all women, then the science of Aisha will be better.”

Atha bin Abi Rabah said, “Aisha is the most knowledgeable and the best opinion among ordinary people.”

Urwah said, “I have never seen anyone more skilled in jurispruded, medicine, or poetry than Aisha.”

Aisha’s knowledge is shown by being a person who narrates hadith more than Abu Hurayrah.

Abu Musa Al-Asy’ari said, “If we are confused by the knowledge of muhammad’s companions, we will ask Aisha and we will find an explanation from her.”

• Death of Aisha

Aisha died at the age of fifty-eight. According to the famous history of Ramadan. There are also those who say to Shawwal, and the most famous is the tuesday night of the seventeenth of Ramadan.

Aisha asked to be buried in Al Baqi’ at night. The one who said it was Abu Hurayrah. While the person who took care of his funeral, namely Abdullah, Urwah bin Al Zubair ibn Al Awwam, and from his sister, namely; Asma bint Abi Bakr, Al Qasim, and Abdullah, and his two nephews namely; Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, and Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Abi Bakr.
