5 Muslim Ethics (Akhlaq) to the Quran

1, Reading the Quran is one of Muslim Ethics

For a devout person it is an honor and glory for his oral to be able to chant the kalam of the owner of the universe and its contents. His verses always educated his intellect and thrilled his soul. No boredom. Because of his self-awareness that kalamullah is a very valuable guide and lesson from Allah Almighty.

His self-awareness was sprinkled with primacy as he verbally chanted His verses of love. So that reading kalamullah is not only a necessity but also a necessity and even a pleasure. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

That is to say : Whoever reads one letter from the Book of Allah (Qurān) then for him one reward of goodness, and one reward of goodness will be multiplied to ten times, I am not saying that alif lām mīm is one letter, but alif one letter, lām one letter, and mīm one letter (HR. Tirmidzi).

That is to say : Read the Quran because he will intercede to his “companions (HR. Muslim)

“The one who reads the Qur’ān and he is proficient in reading it, then he is with noble and devoted angels. Whereas one who reads the Qur’ān stammeringly and finds it difficult to read it, then for him two rewards” (HR. Bukhari Muslim).

2. Memorizing the Quran

The Muslim who enjoys chanting His verses, is also installed in his mind to memorize the Quran. Moreover, the virtue of attaching His verses in his mind and qalbu encouraged him even more. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said :

That is to say: Read the Quran because Allah will not torture the heart that contains the Quran. And indeed this Quran is the feast of Allah, so whoever enters it, he is safe. And whoever loves the Quran, then give him glad tidings Imam (HR. Al-Darimi).

Allah gives privileges to the memorization of His kalam. That man’s fall to caliphate and sin is a necessity, but Allah promised not to torture the Muslim qalbu which contains the memorization of the Quran which guides his life.

3. Understanding the content of the Quran

Not fully just by reading and memorizing, His lovers will also try to understand (tadabbur) the Quran.

Understand by learning it both in terms of reading, language rules and meaning / interpretation. Moreover, the virtue of studying the Quran, will further motivate him always the spirit of tadabbur Al Quran. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said :

That is to say: It is not a group of people gathered in one house among the houses of God, they read the book of God and learn from each other among them, unless tranquility descends upon them, mercy covers them, angels surround them, and God mentions them among (angels) before Him (HR. Muslim).

That is to say: You are the one who learns the Quran and teaches it (HR. Bukhari).

He did not want to be held like a donkey by his Rabb or collected in yaumul qiyamah in a blind state due to negligence in practicing the Quran. Because it is the humiliation of the world and its afterlife. Allah Almighty said:

“The example of those who were entrusted with ˹observing˺ the Torah but failed to do so, is that of a donkey carrying books.1 How evil is the example of those who reject Allah’s signs! For Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.” (QS. Al Jumu’ah verse 5).

It means : “(24) But whoever turns away from My Reminder will certainly have a miserable life,1 then We will raise them up blind on the Day of Judgment.” (25) They will cry, “My Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, although I used to see?” (26) Allah will respond, “It is so, just as Our revelations came to you and you neglected them, so Today you are neglected.”
” (QS. Thaha verses 124-126).

5. Teaching the Quran

The best practice that needs to be a target for kalamullah lovers is to teach the reading and the meanings contained in it.

It is not enough to make it a useful science for charity, but as a devotion to God. Because of his efforts to best maintain kalamullah and Islam. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said :

That is to say: Whoever points to goodness will get a reward like the reward of the one who does it (HR. Muslim).

Allah Almighty said:

That is to say: “It is not appropriate for someone who Allah has blessed with the Scripture, wisdom, and prophethood to say to people, “Worship me instead of Allah.” Rather, he would say, “Be devoted to the worship of your Lord ˹alone˺”—in accordance with what these prophets read in the Scripture and what they taught.” (QS: Ali Imran:79).
