5 Virtues of Performing Hajj

1. Hajj Is a Noble Practice

The first virtue of hajj is that haji is one of the most afdhol practices. It is clear that people who perform hajj in accordance with sharia and Islamic guidance will get abundant rewards from Allah SWT.

2. The Reward for Hajj is Heaven

Not only included in the most important worship, it turns out that people who perform haji mabrur will get a reward from Allah SWT. Of course, this will be obtained if the person who performs haji does not commit the sin of shirk.

3. Hajj Including Jihad Fii Sabilillah (Jihad in the Way of Allah)

The next priority of haji is to include jihad fi sabilillah or jihad in the way of Allah. From ‘Aisha—ummul Mukminin—radhiyallahu ‘anha, he said,

“O Messenger of Allaah, we see that jihad is the most afdhol practice. Does that mean we have to strive?” “No, I’m not,” he said. The most important jihad is hajj mabrur”, replied the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.” (HR. Bukhari no. 1520)

4. Haji Will Eliminate Mistakes and Sins

Hajj turns out to have the virtue of removing the mistakes and sins that have been done before. But on condition that during his hajj in the holy land he does not commit shirk or sin.

5. The One Who Performs Haji is a Guest of God
