5 Ways to Care for Hair for Muslim women in hijab

The term hijab is mentioned by Allah in the Quran:

“When you ask them for something, ask from behind the hijab. This is more sacred to your hearts and their hearts.” Al Ahzab: 53).

Al Baghawi explains this verse:

“I mean: from behind the scenes. So after this verse descended, no one saw the wives of the Prophet Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam whether they were wearing niqabs or not” (Tafsir Al Baghawi).

In language, hijab means veil or cover.

“hijab means cover” (Lisaanul Arab).

In terms, the meaning of hijab is as explained by Al Munawi below:

“Hijab is anything that covers something that is required to be covered or forbidden to reach it. Among the application of its meaning, hijab is interpreted with as sitr (cover), which is the one that masterminds something so that it cannot be seen. Likewise al bawwab (door), referred to as hijab because it prevents people from entering. The origin of the meaning, hijab is an entity that becomes a barrier between two other entities” (At Tauqif ‘ala Muhimmat At Ta’arif, 1/136).

Abul Baqa’ Al Hanafi also explained:

“Any that covers things that are required to be covered or obstruct things that are forbidden to achieve then it is hijab” (Al Kulliyat, 1/360).
