Khadija bint Khuwaylid. She is the wife of The Prophet Muhammad SAW. She lived about 1,400 years ago, but her name remains fragrant even today. Here are seven khadija facts you may not know yet

Khadija’s first fact :  a successful and respected businesswoman.

Khadija was born to a father who was a successful merchant in the Quraysh in Mecca. He inherited his father’s skills where society was predominantly male.

After his father’s death, he took over the business and trade of goods through major trade centers at the time, from Mecca to Syria and Yemen, employing the most trustworthy people to venture through dangerous trade routes.

The business is larger than the combined all the trade of the Quraysh and most famously with a reputation for fair trade and high quality goods.

She has sharp eyes and is very intuitive, earning nicknames, Ameerat-Quraysh (“Princess of the Quraysh”) and al-Tahira (“The Pure”) for her outstanding reputation.

Khadija knew what she was doing in terms of business, never sacrificing her humility or integrity to succeed in a male-dominated trade.

Khadija second fact : rejected many marriage proposals.

Marriage at this time is usually necessary to survive and is not always about love as we know it in today’s world.

Khadija did not need a husband to take care of her financially. And Muhammad, at that time had not been appointed a Prophet, did not have the capital to find a wife.

Khadija fell in love with him, and through a friend, asked him to marry her.

Muhammad’s prophethood began during his marriage to Khadija, when he received the first revelation from Allah SWT through the Angel Gabriel which made him fear, tense and feel alone when no one believed him.
