Prophet Isa AS is one of the messengers of Allah SWT who has many privileges. She was born from the womb of a virgin holy woman. When the baby was a baby, he was given a miracle so that he could speak out in defense of the mother from accusations of adultery.
As he grew, prophet Jesus as had many miracles. Among them are able to revive the dead, make birds from the ground, lower food from the sky, and cure leprosy.
So because so many extraordinary things were done by the Prophet Jesus, the Children of Israel also considered him as God. However, Prophet Jesus (A.S.) refused to acknowledge himself as God.
Even in the Qur’an, he expressly states that he is only a servant of Allah SWT. While all that is to be worshipped is Only Allah Ta’ala.
In the Qur’an surah Al-Maidah verse 116-117, it is explained in detail about the rejection of Jesus as regarding his mention as God. As stated in surah Al-Maidah verse 116
In this verse it is explained that Allah SWT asked the Prophet Jesus AS that he told man to make him and his mother as two gods.
He said, “Glory be to Allah, for it is not for him to say what is not his right.
If he ever said this, then of course Allah SWT knows what is in him and he does not know what is in Allah.’ For Allah only is the Knower of the unseen.
Then in the next verse there is the affirmation of Jesus AS. As stated in verse 117 of al-Maidah,
In this verse, The Prophet Jesus AS stated that he never said anything to his people except what Allah SWT commanded him: “Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.”
Then in Surah Maryam verse 30, The Prophet Jesus AS stated firmly that he is a servant of Allah SWT. As it is mentioned that,
“I am a servant of Allah, He has given me the Book and made me a prophet.”
Furthermore in Surah Maryam verse 36,
Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him by you all. This is a straight path.”
Thus some of the verses in the Qur’an reveal the rejection of Jesus AS regarding his mention as God. In fact, he stated that Allah SWT is the only God that should be worshipped.
So for those who declare that The Prophet Jesus AS is The Lord, then Allah SWT prohibits paradise for him and someday they will get a painful torment in hell.
