It turns out that there are many similarities in both Islamic and Christian teachings. That’s an important aspect that many people know less about. When it was conveyed by religious comparative experts and former priests who had studied the Gospel and the Quran in depth, some of the world was horrified.
If you look at the variety of religions today, there is one main thing that is the same and similar, among religious diversity. Referring to that understanding, there is no difference between Islam and other religions, especially Christianity.
Not only Islam with Christianity, other religions also have something in common. It’s just that not many people want and really learn it.
It turns out that the Quran and the Gospel alike forbid drinking alcohol and eating pork, requiring the wearing of hijab (covering the head), ordering the prophets to circumcise and refusing about penance.
That similarity is what makes the Qur’an not too strict and able to adapt to any religious environment. Islam teaches us to open our minds to other religions. Because there are similarities between one religion and the other.
Don’t get angry, panicked and splash out for the truth around you with great rational sense. Man is not the creator of religion, man is not the determinant of a prophet to be worshipped, man is not sure the prophet is God.
God commanded his people to worship Him through the Prophets. Don’t just obey the minds of humans and our ancestors without a strong understanding. If there is a difference of understanding then follow your book (Gospel or Quran) not human (ulama, church or pastor).
If there is a religious debate follow Allah’s command through the prophet (Jesus, Muhammad), do not follow the orders of man or anyone else. Follow the original book of God, not follow the book that man has changed many times.
The task of religious comparison experts is to unite in the name of the human life of the world and the hereafter. Teach what is long forgotten that religion and truth must continue to be taught and spread.
The experts also suggested that if you want to study Christianity, you should read the Gospels instead of seeing the adherents. The opposite is true of Islam. Learning Islam should be by reading the Qur’an and hadith, not looking at its adherents.
Religious comparison experts try to eliminate the misconceptions of Islam and Christianity. They continue to try to get everyone closer to the original scripts of both religions.
“Islam” comes from salaam which means peace and “Aslam” which means surrender to Allah. Those who surrender to Allah are called Muslims. While the word Christian, there is only one version of the book, the Book of Acts where Jesus refers to a small group of followers as Christians. Christian is a follower of Jesus.
Many call Islam a new religion that Muhammad formed 1,400 years ago. Whereas in fact, Islam is the religion that existed since human civilization began is the prophet Adam and Prophet Muhammad was the last prophet.
So all the prophets including Jesus, Ibrahim, Muhammad and the other prophets are Muslims. Because, all prophets put their trust in Allah as the name Of Islam itself means.
Allah SWT sends prophets to each nation, 25 names of prophets and messengers called the Koran. Non-Muslims don’t believe in the US Isa. ‘A Muslim must believe Jesus was born without human intervention, believe he revives the dead. There are many Islamic equivalents with Christians.
There are 124 thousand prophets whom God sent down even though only 25 are mentioned in the Koran. The prophets were sent for a certain period of time and race. Jesus was sent to the House of Israil, only for Jewish descent. The Prophet Muhammad sent God to all mankind and forever until the end of the world.
The Qur’an says to believe in the Prophet Muhammad, the Gospel also says to believe in Jesus, because he gave eternal life, so where did Jesus make mistakes? According to the Qur’an, neither of them did anything wrong.
Jesus Christ or Jesus never did anything wrong. It is the Church that makes mistakes. Jesus Christ ‘alaihissalam was one of the great apostles of the Lord. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father unless it is through me” (John 16:7) This is true. This means that he is god’s apostle. The Prophet Muhammad said so too.
Prohibited drinking alcohol.
Another similarity between Islam and Christianity is the prohibition on drinking alcohol. Allah in the Quran and the Gospels clearly forbid drinking alcohol. Uniquely most Christian brothers drink alcohol while almost all Muslims do not drink alcohol because it is forbidden.
1) In the Quran
- Al-Maidah verse 90
- Al-Maidah verse 91
O believers! Intoxicants, gambling, idols, and drawing lots for decisions1 are all evil of Satan’s handiwork. So shun them so you may be successful. (90)
Satan’s plan is to stir up hostility and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling and to prevent you from remembering Allah and praying. Will you not then abstain? (91)
2) In the Gospels
– Ephesians 5:18
In Ephesians 5:18 And do not be drunk by wine 1, for wine causes lust, but be full of the Spirit.
– Proverbs 20:1
Proverbs 20:1 Wine is scornful, liquor is a fairy, it is not wise to be staggered by it. The description of the word Nas: Proverbs 20:1 This verse describes the nature and bad potential of fermented beverages. Note that the intoxicating drink itself is cursed along with its effects.
1) Wine as a “scornful” often leads to a contempt for the good (bd. Proverbs 9:7-8; 13:1; 14:6; 15:12). Drinks containing alcohol as “peribut” often cause riots, hostilities, and quarrels in families and communities.
2) Intoxicating wines and drinks are called scorn and derision, no matter how much is drunk.
3) “The one who is staggered by it” (the English version of the NIV — the one who is misled) into thinking that intoxicating drink is acceptable, good, healthy, or safe when drunk simply, ignores the clear warnings in the Bible (Proverbs 23:29-35).
