Every Muslim who believes and fears Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala his heart will always be attached to love the lover of Allah, namely the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
The love for the Prophet Muhammad is usually proven by praying through shalawat and practicing from his sunnahs.
In the month of Rabi’ul awwal is usually often commemorated the day of the birth of Prophet Muhammad. But the question is, is it true that the Prophet Muhammad صله الله عليه وسلم the man we love so much was born in the month of Rabi’ul awwal?
Is there a difference of opinion among scholars regarding the day of his birth?
My brother who is blessed by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala indeed concerning the day of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad صله الله عليه وسلم there is a ikhtilaf (dissent) ‘ulama.
Some scholars argue that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was born on the 8th of Rabi’ul Awwal, as was the opinion of Imam Ibn Hazm (d. 456 AH).
Some say that the birth of the Prophet Muhammad is the date of 09 Rabi’ul Awwal, as stated by Shaykh Shafiyurrahman al-Mubarakfuri (d. 1427 AH) in the book of Ar-Rahiq Al-Makhtum.
While the opinion of the famous and jumhur (majority) scholars is on the 12th rabi’ul Awwal.
And it turns out that the difference of opinion regarding the birth of the prophet is not only on the date difference only.
There are also some who say the birth of the Prophet Muhammad is not in the month of Rabiul awwal as explained in the book of Ar-rahiq al-makhtum. Some say that he was born in Ramadan, and some say in Shafar.
But the opinion that is believed to be more precise according to the opinion of the jumhur ‘ulama is 12 Rabi’ul Awwal.
Family of the Prophet
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was born into a family of Hasyim in Makkah. The beginning of the year of the elephant event or coinciding with the 20th or 22nd of April of 571 AD
This is based on the research of the great scholar Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Manshurfuri and astronomy researcher Mahmud Basya in the book mudharat Tarik Al-Umam Al-Islamiyyah, Al-Khudary, p. I/62 and Rahmatun lil ‘alamin I/38-39
The family of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam is known as the hasyimiyah family and the name is added to his grandfather, hasyim bin abdu manaf.
About The Prophet’s Father
His father was Abdullah ibn Abdul Muthallib ibn Hasyim. Abdullah was the youngest son of Abdul Muthallib. In addition to the smallest son he became the best and most beloved child in his family.
In the books of Sirah it is explained that Abdullah is known as al-dzabih (slaughter). K. Abdullah’s arena had once been given a lottery to be sacrificed to idols by slaughtering according to the vows of Abdul Muthalib.
Abdullah’s parents had a vow to sacrifice one of their children to be sacrificed for an idol named Hubal. Then when he won the lottery, of the ten brothers Abdullah’s name always came out.
But because of the concern and affection of the family of the hasyim to Abdullah, so did the quraysh who tried hard to persuade and prevent the actions of Abdul muthalib.
finally abdullah’s sacrifice was thwarted and eventually replaced with 100 camels.
Abdullah is the son of the most revered qurays leader in Makkah. In terms of morality Abdullah is known as a young man of noble character.
Even if there is a negative habit of Makkah youth, Abdullah did not do so including adultery. Abdullah married Aminah, the daughter of Wahb, a quraysh leader.
Regarding the death of the prophet’s father there is a difference of opinion ‘ulama. Some say he died after the birth of a 2-month-old prophet.
And some argue that during abdullah’s journey back to Makkah and at that time the Messenger of Allah صله الله عليه وسلم in his mother’s womb in the sixth month and this is the opinion of the jumhur ‘ulama.
About The Prophet’s Mother
The prophet’s mother was Aminah Binti Wahb bin Abdu Manaf bin zuhrah bin kilab. The mother of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is known as the most respected woman among the qurays in terms of her descent and position.
When she gave birth to the Messenger of Allah صله الله عليه وسلم Aminah watched the light shine on her house. The midwife who handled al-Syifa’ mother from Abdurrahman bin ‘auf and the process of childbirth was accompanied by um aiman.
Joy also envelops aminah with the birth of a baby that has been waiting for 9 months even the birth is full of miracles.
Long story short, three years aminah with Muhammad, educated his only child with joy and sorrow until finally death picked up the mother of the Messenger of Allah صله الله عليه وسلم.
