Whereas when viewed from the origin of the word, Islam comes from the words assalmu, aslama, istaslama, saliim, and salaam.  Each of these words has the following meaning:

  • Assalmu means peace, peace. That is, Islam is a peaceful religion and every Muslim should maintain peace.

Islam was brought by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to mankind as a guide to achieving happiness in the world and the afterlife. The essence of this religious teaching is to testify that there is no God but Allah and the Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, establishing prayers, performing zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and going to Hajj when possible. All these things we are more familiar with as the pillars of Islam
