In the book Aqidah Islam by Sayid Sabiq, one of the professors at Egypt’s Al-Azhar University, it is explained that Allah Swt. created Angels first than created humans.
And previously God had told the Angel that man was to be created to be made the caliph of the world, or a substitute (leader) on the surface of the earth. As in His words:
“… And when your Lord said to the Angel, ‘Verily I will make a caliph on earth’. The angel then said, ‘Will You make on earth a man who will make mischief and shed blood (kill-kill), while we exalt by praising thanksgiving to Thee and disfiguring thee’. God then said, ‘Verily I am the All-Knowing thing that you all do not know.'” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 30)
Some of the conclusions we can draw are:
First, the Angel is a being of the highest caste, he has no lust as man, nor does he do anything that is not on the path of his duty.
Second, angels are creatures of God who are in other realms, they can descend to earth and be transformed into humans.

Third, Angels were created from Nur (light) and are supernatural and subtle in nature, unattainable by human senses, whether felt, palpable, kissed, seen, or heard.
That is the scientific basis that justifies that Angels are beings created from the light complete with their postulates. Hopefully, what we have conveyed is useful.
Angel Created from the Light, Here Are Their Characteristics
in Islam, One of the pillars of faith revealed in the Quran is to follow angels. Angels are Al-Mala’ul al-A’la, which means supreme beings, or one of the beings of the highest caste who has no physical form, so they cannot be seen, heard, and felt by the five senses
Angels are one of God’s creatures who are given a certain mission in managing affairs in the heavens and on earth. Because according to the language, angels come from the plural form of the word malak which comes from mashdar al-alukah which means ar-risalah (mission or message).
Meanwhile, in terms of angels are a kind of creature of God created specifically to obey and worship Him and perform all his duties. This is also what makes the creation between humans and angels different.
Prof. Dr. Umar Sulaiman al-Asyqar in a book entitled The Secrets of the Realm of Angels, Jinns and Demons, in a hadith narrated by Aisyah binti Abi Bakar, The Messenger of Allah SAW once told that angels were created from light. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « خُلِقَتِ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ مِنْ نُورٍ وَخُلِقَ الْجَانُّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ وَخُلِقَ آدَمُ مِمَّا وُصِفَ لَكُمْ ». (رواه مسلم)
It means: “The angel was created from the light. Jinn was created from a blazing fire, while Adam was created from what has been explained to you.” (HR. Muslim).
Based on the hadith above, we are only limited to knowing that angels were created from the light. That is why further study of what light is the origin of the creation of angels cannot be done.
