Why Prophet Muhammad Fasting in Monday and Thursday ?

On Monday, Prophet Muhammad PBUH often fasted and also did it on Thursday. Rasulullah PBUH was asked about the recommendation to fast on Monday. Then he replied, “That is the day on which I was born, the day on which I was sent or revealed to me.” (Narrated by Muslim)

Why fast Monday-Thursday, why not another day? That also has a secret. “From Abu Hurairah ra, that the Prophet Muhammad SAW fasted on Mondays and Thursdays, so I asked Him, then He said, ‘Indeed the deeds of a person are brought on Mondays and Thursdays.”

Rasulullah SAW did emphasize his attention to fasting on Monday and Thursday. Very rarely did he leave it because of the benefits and virtues of fasting on those Mondays and Thursdays. Prophet Muhammad SAW wanted when his deeds were lifted before Allah swt he was in a state of shaum.

She said, “The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to choose to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.” (HR. An Nasai and Ibn Majah).

So what is the priority of the person who performs the sunnah fast?
